My Story
How did we get here?
2015
My life changed forever when I swapped my Somerset ‘wellie’ boots for a pair of flip-flops! My family up-rooted and moved to the Seychelles, an island in the Indian Ocean. The reason being, my fathers job in financial services. At this time I was completing my A-levels and had no clue what the future had in store for me.
2017
I finished school feeling pretty lost, everyone was going off to university but I had no idea what I wanted to do. I have always loved Art, English and Business and I ended up taking a gap year to complete a ‘Teaching English as a Foreign Language’ (TEFL) qualification. I travelled around South East Asia.
2018
I returned to my family who where now living on the island of Mauritius and began working as a compliance officer at my fathers company. While working there I would often put together infographics, fund fact sheets and various marketing materials. I found myself spending hours on these tasks and without realising the whole day would go by. I began to research courses around these topics, but had no idea what graphic design was!
2019
I enrolled in a BA of Digital Design at Curtin University an Austalian University with a campus on the island! I fell deeply in love with design and after the first semester I began freelancing with a hand full of clients to fund my studies. I completed my degree with the highest grades in the class winning the Design Challenge Award!
2023
I had a roaring lust for adventure and a feeling I had out grown my little tropical island, the winds of change blew and I found myself on mainland! I exchanged palm trees and beaches for pine tree forests and the snow capped mountains of British Columbia, Canada. (I had to purchase hiking boots too of course!)
Today!
Working as a Freelance Graphic Designer has given me the amazing opportunity to adventure to different corners of the world. I am so grateful for this journey. I have a job I love so much, it doesn’t feel like work at all! I have worked with some amazing people all over the globe and am excited to see what the future holds!
